If you eat Tic Tacs in moderation, they will not cause weight gain because they are relatively low in calories. As long as you maintain a caloric deficit, you will still lose weight when eating Tic Tacs or any candies and mints.

Now, if you consume 4-5 packages of Tic Tacs on the daily, this is a different story. I personally do not know anyone who does this, although the little orange Tic Tacs are quite addicting.
You would be consuming too many calories which will most likely lead to weight gain due to entering a calorie surplus. This is not the fault of the Tic Tacs, it is simply a result of overeating and consuming too many calories.
The same goes for any type of food or drink, if you eat too much of it you will gain weight due to being in a surplus of calories.
It is all about moderation when it comes to your diet and making sure you are staying within your calorie goals for the day.
Are Tic Tacs Healthy?
Overall, Tic Tacs are not one of the healthier foods you could eat as they are primarily composed of sugar and offer no other nutritional value.
Tic Tacs are primarily made up of sugar, artificial flavorings, and dyes.
While they are typically labeled as sugar free, they actually do contain sugar, but the amount is low enough that they are able to be labeled as sugar free according to governmental regulation guidelines that determine the acceptable threshold for sugar content.
Be mindful that the serving size for Tic Tacs is one piece, not the entire package. If you consume the entire package of Tic Tacs, you will consume on average about 40 grams of sugar and 200 calories overall if you consume an entire 200 count package.
But, this does not mean you cannot enjoy Tic Tacs if you really love them. Just be mindful of how many you are eating and try to balance them out with healthier snacks throughout the day.
Sugar is not the villainous enemy that many make it out to be. Sugar is fine in moderation.
Do Lifesavers Make You Gain Weight?
Lifesavers will not cause weight gain, in fact sucking on some Lifesavers mints might be a great idea to curb cravings when trying to lose weight in a calorie deficit.
Lifesaver candies contain on average 10 calories per piece. This is extremely low and if you are eating them in moderation, they will not cause weight gain as long as you are maintaining your calorie deficit and including the calories from them in your daily goal.
In fact, the act of sucking on a Lifesaver might actually help to curb cravings for sugary snacks and help you stay on track with your diet goals.
The main thing to be aware of is the serving size. The serving size for Lifesavers is two pieces, so if you eat the entire roll you will be consuming about 60 calories.
While this is not a lot, it can add up if you are snacking on Lifesavers all day long multiple times.
Just always keep track of how many you are eating and try to balance them out with healthier snacks throughout the day.
Does Bubblegum or Chewing Gum Cause Weight Gain?
Chewing gum overall is completely fine to include in your diet when you are trying to lose weight, and will not cause weight gain.
Chewing gum also could help to curb cravings and help you stick to your calorie deficit just like mints can.
The main thing to be aware of is the amount of sugar that is in the gum you are chewing as well as how much you are consuming.
Some types of gum can be very high in sugar which might increase calorie counts, which can cause weight gain if you are not careful with how much gum you are chewing and consuming.
For example, there is a major difference between chewing on a few pieces of mint gum and consuming an entire package of Bubble Tape.
You might not realize this, but there can be upwards of 1,500 calories in one entire roll of Bubble Tape.
Bubble Tape and bubble gum can be very addicting due to how sweet it is, so if you find yourself consuming 1,500 calories from bubble gum, you will likely be putting yourself into a calorie surplus, and could gain weight.
Now you might think “who would eat an entire roll of bubble tape?” But, this is why you need to be mindful of calorie contents in the products we consume, because I am sure there is someone who loves Bubble Tape this much.
I would recommend sticking to sugar free gum when trying to lose weight as it tastes just as good and why not save on the calories if you can.
Sugar free gum is relatively very low in calories, with most brands offering about 5 calories per piece. This means you can chew away without having to worry about impacting your calorie goals for the day.
Can I Eat Chewing Gum and Tic Tacs in a Calorie Deficit?
Yes, you can include chewing gum, Tic Tacs, or whatever other mints you want in a calorie deficit and you will still get results.
These products are very low in calories overall and will cause weight gain if you eat them in moderation and as intended.
It does not matter what type of foods you consume in a calorie deficit. If you consume calories that exceed your maintenance amount of calories, you will gain weight.
Are some foods healthier than others and offer more nutritional value? Yes. Will certain foods cause weight gain just because of the type of foods they are? No. What matters is the calories they contain.
It does not matter if you ate 500 calories from Oreos or 500 calories from salmon. If these 500 extra calories are putting you into a caloric surplus, you are going to increase your body fat.
It does not matter if these calories are coming from salad greens, chicken breast, fish, cookies, or Tic Tacs. Energy is energy.
Calories matter. Energy in and energy out is what matters and is what determines whether you will decrease body fat or not.

Tic Tacs, Lifesaver candies, and chewing gum are all fine to include while on a calorie deficit and will not cause weight gain if you are mindful of their calorie contents and include the calories they contain in your daily goals.
Tracking your calorie intake and contents is what will make or break your weight loss goals, not the types of foods or snacks you choose.
Calories matter. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Burning more calories than you consume overtime is the only way to lose body fat. It’s science!
