Most dessert breads can contain up to 400 calories per slice depending on the ingredients, but not this bread.
- It makes 12 servings
This recipe yields 12 delicious slices, perfect for sharing or meal prep.
Also, if making for yourself, it is a dessert you can enjoy for over a week’s time.
- Packed with Biscoff and cinnamon flavor
Indulge in the irresistible combination of Biscoff spread and cinnamon that will satisfy your cravings.
Biscoff is my new favorite and it is soooo good! I am discovering so many new things you can make with Biscoff and it is a real game changer.
It has a delicious nutty, warm cookie flavor that is unmatched in my opinion.
- No bananas needed for this bread
Unlike many low calorie bread recipes, this one doesn’t require bananas, making it a great option for those who aren’t fans of the fruit or who don’t really care for banana bread.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good banana bread. But bananas don’t have to be an ingredient in every healthy bread recipe.
If you are someone who is looking for a Biscoff flavored bread without the taste of banana, this recipe is great for you.
Ingredients
To create this scrumptious Low Calorie Biscoff Bread, you’ll need the following ingredients.
I also included the calories each ingredient contains as a whole. When added together, this is divided amonsgt 12 pieces of bread in the final recipe, which yields 109 calories per slice.
- 1/4 cup Biscoff Spread (340 calories)
This creamy spread adds rich flavor to the bread.
It’s hard to make Biscoff bread without…well…Biscoff.
I use a lower amount in this recipe that decreases overall calories in the bread but still ends up giving you Biscoff flavor you’re after.
- 1/4 cup Nonfat Greek yogurt (32 calories)
Greek yogurt provides moisture and a hint of tanginess.
Greek yogurt is also a great source of protein so it a great substitute to use when baking.
Another plus, it has a balanced blend of essential amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine, and valine, which are particularly important for muscle protein synthesis and recovery after exercise.
- 1 egg (80 calories)
The egg acts as a binding agent and contributes to the bread’s structure. I would not skip out on the egg.
- 1/4 cup artificial brown sugar substitute (I used Truvia)
This sweetener adds sweetness without the extra calories that regular brown sugar has.
You only need a 1/4 cup of this brown sugar substitute as it is actually sweeter than regulr brown sugar.
If you want your bread even sweeter you can up it to 1/2 cup or until you get the sweetness level you want.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (12 calories)
Vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor profile of the bread.
This is totally optional of course. Don’t have any vanilla on hand? Your bread will still taste delicious.
- 1 cup AP Flour (440 calories)
All purpose flour provides structure and texture to the bread. We will be using both regular AP flour and almond flour in this recipe.
- 1 cup almond flour (360 calories)
Almond flour adds a nutty taste and makes the bread moist.
Almond flour also contains less overall calories than AP flour, so I used half and half to decrease the overall calorie count.
- 2 tsp baking powder (4 calories)
Baking powder helps the bread rise. Don’t forget to add it!
- 1 tsp cinnamon (6 calories)
Cinnamon adds warmth and a delightful aroma and really helps to bring out and enhance the flavor of Biscoff even more.
- 1 cup almond milk (30 calories)
Almond milk keeps the bread moist by adding the liquid that we need to the batter and complements the other flavors as well with the almond flavor.
- 1/4 piece of a Biscoff cookie (9 calories)
Crushed Biscoff cookie topping for added crunch and indulgence.
This step is also completely optional, but I do like the little cookie pieces on top.
How to Make It
It is best to make this batter with some type of mixer. I used a stand mixer, but if you have a regular hand mixer, this works too.
If you want to mix it by hand with a whisk, this will also work, but I feel a mixer works better to make sure all of the ingredients are incorporated well.
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare your loaf pan with non stick spray or by lining with parchment. I used a 9×5 dark colored non-stick loaf pan.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add Greek yogurt, Biscoff spread, brown sugar substitute, and vanilla. Mix on low to medium speed until well combined.

Add the egg and mix until incorporated and smooth. Scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing.
Gradually add both flours, cinnamon, and baking powder to the mixture while slowly pouring in almond milk. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, scraping the bowl as needed.

When your alomd milk has been added and fully incoporated into the batter, the batter should become thinner and lighter in appearance.

Transfer the batter to a prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the top with crushed Biscoff cookie.
This is an optional step. You do not have to add the cookie on the top, but I do like the added crunchy cookie flavor on top of the bread.
You can also mox the cookie right into the batter if you want to, the choice is yours!

Bake the bread at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until the bread has risen and is cracked on top. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center—it should come out clean.
If you are using a darker pan like I did, check for doneness at about 45 minutes. You do not want the bread to burn.
My bread was done at about 46 minutes in the oven.
Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
The bread will take about an hour to cool completely.

Tips for Success
- Scrape the bowl!
For the best texture, make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Spray or parchment your loaf pan.
To prevent the bread from sticking to the pan, you can line it with parchment paper or lightly spray it with cooking spray.
- Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar substitute to suit your taste preferences.
For an extra burst of flavor, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the bread before baking.
You can make this with low calorie granulated artificial sweetener and cinnamon if you want to.
How to Make It Even Lower Calorie
Here are some tips you may want to try to make this bread even lower in calorie count.
- Use less Biscoff
If you want to make this bread even lower in calories, you can reduce the amount of Biscoff spread.
Just keep in mind that this may result in less Biscoff taste, but the bread will still taste wonderful.
I would not use any less than 3 tablespoons of Biscoff Spread in this recipe.
- Cut the bread into smaller pieces
Instead of cutting the bread into 12 pieces, you can try cutting it into 14 pieces.
While the pieces of bread will be thinner, the calorie count will be lower as well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use regular sugar instead of the brown sugar substitute?
Yes, you can use regular brown sugar if you prefer. Keep in mind that it will slightly increase the calorie content of the bread so you will have to account for that in the final recipe.
Can I use whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour?
Yes, you can substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour, but keep in mind that it will result in a denser texture. I think whole wheat flour would work fine in this bread.
Can I freeze this bread?
Absolutely! This bread freezes well.
Simply slice it, place the slices in an airtight container or freezer bag, and store them in the freezer for up to three months.
When ready to enjoy, thaw the slices at room temperature or briefly toast them.
How long does this bread last on the counter?
This Low Calorie Biscoff Bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
Make sure to store it in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap to keep it fresh.
If you live in a humid climate or the bread starts to become moist, you may want to store it in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life.
However, keep in mind that refrigeration can slightly alter the texture of the bread a bit.
